Independence, IA (July 1, 2024) – The law firm of Roberts & Eddy, P.C. is pleased to announce that Associate Attorney Andrew E. Steffensmeier has rejoined their firm.

Andrew Steffensmeier, a Cedar Rapids native, graduated from Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business & Economics. “Having spent a majority of my upbringing surrounded by agriculture, my experiences at Iowa State led me to acquire my Series Three Commodity Broker License, which provided me with an expansive look at agriculture from a global perspective. While studying to receive my Broker’s license, I became interested in the legal rules and regulations surrounding the agricultural industry.”

Andrew continued his education at Drake University Law School in Des Moines. During law school, he worked for Brick Gentry, a law firm in Des Moines, where he focused on agricultural, real estate, and probate law. “The firm’s clerkship program provided me with excellent training through substantive legal assignments, including drafting lease and real estate purchase agreements, researching federal farm programs, and preparing complex estate planning documents.” At Drake, Steffensmeier also served as a Senior Editor of the Drake University Journal of Agricultural Law

Steffensmeier began his legal career at Roberts & Eddy, P.C. in September 2022, assisting with real estate and taxation matters. He then worked in Des Moines with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office. Upon his return, he will assist with litigation, family law, taxation, and real estate matters.

In addition to his legal interests, Steffensmeier officiates high school sports and enjoys golfing.
