Anderson grew up in Independence, Iowa. She graduated from Independence High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa, receiving her BA in Leisure, Youth, and Human Services. Vicki has spent the last twelve years in banking, specializing in real estate lending.

Vicki and her husband have six children who keep them busy attending many softball, basketball, volleyball, and soccer games. They enjoy biking the trails around Cedar Rapids on their tandem bicycle, walking with their dog, and golfing in their spare time.
